OK, so both my wife and I, along with our neighbors will be going to Dead Acres this Sat. (Oct. 13th). The only other haunted attraction my wife and I have gone to is the one that used to be at Polaris. If this website is any indication, dead Acres will be much more intense. Really looking forward to a kick ass time.
Have a couple questions:
We are considering buying the VIP pass. I know I have read that the lines can exceed 2 hours. Is this always the case? If we get there when it opens, are the lines really going to be that long? Can you just buy the VIP tickets online or can you also buy them at Dead Acres? Does the VIP pass kill the whole line for you or do you still have to wait a little? I mean, if 200 people show up at the same time and want a VIP pass, there has to be some wait right?
Another part of me thinks that waiting in line will be half the fun. It sounds like there are lots of "little" things going on around the line such as a movie playing the monsters doing their thing. How much of the experience are you missing if you bypass the line?
Also, I'm a little confused about whether the majority of it is inside or outside. Is it mostly in the barn? Just trying to get a grasp on the surrounding and what I'm going to encounter when I get there.
Is there ample parking? 2.00 a car right?
I guess thats all. See you on Sat!

First off let us thank you for choosing us to terrorize your family. Most people are intent on keeping their families and friends safe, what a bunch of sissies. It will be an honor to assault your senses. And our website does not lie. What you see is what you get. An extreme haunt, and a kick ass good time. To answer your questions: It is true. We are such a popular attraction that people travel in from around the nation to attend. That being said, yes our line can be downright spooky. Wait times can be large on peak nights, but the line always moves along smoothly. And as you so most excellently put it, sometimes the line is half the fun. There is always something going on / something to look at, from the moment you park your car in one of our two spaceous parking lots that offer ample parking at just two dollars a car. You could always come on a non peak night such as a thursday night. Or come early. We begin to sell tickets at 7 pm, But we do not start running people through our haunt until 8:30. For those that want to get in and out faster than a hit and run there is another option. Now there are some people that don't mind missing out on the waiting experience, they have the option of using our VIP program to shorten thier stay hear at Dead Acres. There is a seperate booth next to concessions that sells VIP tickets only, that way you don't have to wait in the regular ticket line, which can be intimidating on its own. We can't wait to get you into this monster of ours that is 2/3 inside and 1/3 outside. See you this weekend.

Do you have any recommendations/warnings for those of us that are pregnant? I have been wanting to go and this year so does my husband, but I'm 5 months pregnant. I don't scare easily, but I haven't been to the HH before either! Do you advise against it, or is it all cool?

We do not recommend our haunt for women who are pregnant. You might not scare easily, but that little parasite inside you might be. Think of the baby.

So is that to say that you are not going to let pregnant women in? Of course I always think of the baby, so you don't have to remind me of that. I even called my OB today and they said it's not a worry! Besides, baby can't see, so he can't be scared or react to something he doesn't know is there. He only reacts to what I react to. If I'm not scared, why would he be?

I guess I'll rely on the skilled and trained advice of my doctor versus some hoochie workers mostly, and if that's stupid, people need to relook where the finger points. Not that you probably know much about pregnancy and the unborn child in the womb anyway. But, I guess you have to stick to what "the man" says you have to say, no liability trace there. Rock on.

ya you might not scare easliy but the person behind you might freak out...and then will push you over because it does happen..your OB can't tell you that you can't go but he should advise you against it..Your blood sugar might rise at the same time..so yes they can't see whats going on but you also have never been to the haunted hoochie who says we might not scare the shit out of you? Hormones are a bitch!hahahahhaha

Actually, my doctor COULD advise me not to go if they thought it was a problem, because that is their job. I think I have all the advice I need. Scaring isn't the issue, it's the physical part, and I guess if people get trampled and hurt every time, it doesn't sound like as much fun as it did before.

Going to the Hoochie Pregnant..No Problem? Great way to put your kid first. I suppose you would ride a rollercoaster too. If it was no problem all the haunted houses would be lame as hell. I for one, am glad the Hooch< KEEPS IT REAL> and tells it like it is..don't be a dumb bitch and looking to point fingers when these guys have done nothing but warn you not to do something that you should already know. I guess the motherly instincts havent kicked in yet.

And by the way, exactly how do you think it would harm the baby, if not from falling down, which could happen anywhere?

And while I'm at it, how am I trying to ruin the hoochie? Had my way? What way is that? Was I trying to change it in any way, or just ask a question? Sounds like I'm just asking questions to me. And this isn't a roller coaster, so look who's being stupid now. How am I not putting my kid first? Did I say I was going no matter what you people say? Nope, sure didn't. Have a little sense. Sounds like you people are more scary to have around than a haunted house. Time to get back to reality folks.

HH Newbie. Are you psycho or what? I am a parent and have been going thru the hooch for years now, but never when i was pregnant. That would not be very smart. Remember its not just you in there, its literaly thousands of excited and scared fans. Why put your kid at risk, and why try to start trouble on this board when people try to give you their honest opinions. Your first post asks if there are warnings for the pregnant? and Dead Acres answers` yes it is not advised". So why do you not want to take this advice to heart ? The Haunted Hoochie is just like a roller coaster ride, ask any one who has ever been to it.

If you notice, I wasn't responding in the manner in which you are speaking to the Dead Acres team, I was responding to other posters which were calling me stupid for asking a simple question. How irrisponsible am I for asking a question? Did I just show up and go without being informed? Obviously not. Maybe all of you need to realize that I am simply asking questions, which is already the responsible thing. I guess if I'm psycho for asking questions, then I must be psycho! But at least I'm informed before I make my own decisions. Sounds a lot more adult and mature than many of the responses I've gotten. I'm not starting trouble, I just asked a question and responded in a way to stick up for myself. Apparently I'm allowed to do that.

Sounds like everyone is getting a bit too excited..... LMAO ...... noone can say what you can or cannot do with your body or your child. ( BUT ) they can advise you what not to do especially when you have asked for the advice. These are not "Children" giving you advice....quite a few of them are parents. I am noone special ( BUT ) if you were to ask for my opinion I would simply say that "I wouldnt recommend it." The Hoochie is so VERY cool but "It will be there next year" when you can enjoy it fully. You have allot going on at 5 months preg. my wife for one had to pee every 10-30 minuites it seemed.... or YES the possibillity of getting your precious belly injured due to others being stupid. Which is not the norm for Dead Acres BUT you have to keep in mind that not everyone thinks of you or anyone else, there are younger people visiting the haunt and if they would happen to get scared they do tend to run.... Think of the Haunted House as a rock concert.... its allot like one. They have stage scenes where everyone tries to get to the front of the stage.... there is the occasional push or shove people dont always think of others when they are having fun. I dont think ( anyone ) was trying to offend you in any way, but I do believe that they were merely trying to get their point across. Dead Acres / Haunted Hoochie is unlike anything you have seen. The Haunted House sends anywhere from 2500 to 5000 people through a night ( thats allot ) usually groups range from 10-15 people and these groups are un-predictable and as in all haunted houses tend to run together so there is a possibillity of having more than that in the group by the end. As people ARE Un-predictable especially the younger crowd when they are frightened or just when they are goofing around these people could possibly run into you.... or push you against a wall.... or someone in front of you could run and fall with others behind you running..... ( UNFORTUNATELY THIS DOES HAPPEN IN ALL HAUNTED HOUSES ) like I said only so much can be controlled. ( PLEASE DONT TAKE ME THE WRONG WAY ) I AM NOT AN EMPLOYEE OF HAUNTED HOOCHIE OR DEAD ACRES.... I am simply a concerned friend. I think that the baby inside of your belly is VERY SPECIAL and ( LIKE OTHERS ) would hate to see anything happen. I dont think that anyone from DEAD ACRES was stating that they would not let you into the haunted house I believe that they were simply trying to answer your question... I will appologize ( even though I have no relationship with some of the comment makers ) but I offer my appologies for what has been said .... I dont think that some of the comments were necessary or came out the correct way..... I MERELY THINK THAT OTHERS MAKING ( STRONG ) COMMENTS WERE ONLY TRYING TO STRESS THAT THEY WOULDNT THINK OF GOING OR HAVING THEIR WIVES OR GIRLFRIENDS ETC. VISIT AN AGRESSIVE ATTRACTION SUCH AS THE HAUNTED HOOCHIE (WHICH IS IN DEED NOTHING LIKE YOU HAVE SEEN BEFORE ) IT IS LOUD - AGRESSIVE - AND TO ALLOT OF OTHERS VERY ( SCARY )
Im sure you dont scare easily (BUT ) just say that you do get scared and decide to run - which NOONE recommends in any haunted house.... you can agree that there is that slight chance that you might injure that little one growing inside your belly. ( which would be upsetting to you and anyone that would hear of such a tragity ) I hope that this explains the point of view that was expressed in different ways previously. Like DEAD ACRES / HAUNTED HOOCHIE I am not going to say what you can or cannot do with you or your baby but I wouldnt want to put my wife and child at risk whether it was the HOOCHIE ( OR ) any event that might put what really matters to me the most in any sort of jepordy.

[glow=red,2,300]NEWBIE QUESTION[/glow]
"And by the way, exactly how do you think it would harm the baby, if not from falling down, which could happen anywhere?"
[glow=red,2,300]ANSWER[/glow]
Simply ....the loud tones of music as well as the pushing or shoving that might occur. It is a proven fact ( My father is in the medical field ) ....it is a proven fact that loud tones of bass and treble as well as your heart rate etc. could possibly upset your baby or possibly put you or your baby or worse ( BOTH ) in jepordy. My wife lost a child during pregnancy ( which isnt hard to do ) we lost our baby due to ( STRESS ) I MEAN STRESS WAS THE FACTOR...you are in a fragile state right now.... come to DEAD ACRES and have a good time (next year....) there is going to be allot of cool stuff next year as well....possibly better ( WHO KNOWS ) I HOPE TO SEE YA THERE BRIGHT AND CHEERFULL READY TO HAVE A GOOD TIME AND ( OF COURSE ) HAVE THE SHIT SCARED RIGHT OUT OF YOU.....LMFAO.....( HELL YEAH )
