My Father, brother and I took a trip out to Columbus last night from the Cleveland area to go to the Haunted Hoochie, and it did not disappoint. Best Haunted House all of us have ever been through.
A Problem
---------------------------
A lot of people were cutting in line, the last two or three rows barely moved because towards the umbrella/tables people would just hop into line.
---------------------------
After being outside for a bit, we came to a very dark structure where we could not see in front of us. I was leading, I was feeling my way through and something brushed up against my leg (pretty cool). Then an actor lit up a flashlight or something and illuminated the actors face. I continued leading my brother and dad through the dark structure. Quickly losing the group behind us because I have the ability to fly through dark mazes. As we exited the building coming into the swamp I heard music coming from the building we just left. Did we miss a scene because I left the room to fast?
Also coming into the swamp, the actor in the scuba gear was amazing. That might be the coolest thing I have ever seen in a haunted house.
Finally at the end we were stopped in that one final room. We were the only ones there for about three or five minutes. No one said anything about us staying there, I thought we someone found a way into a backstage area and went back a bit. I found a crevice that led into a mechanical room where I could see the outside of what my brother believes to the be spinning vortex tunnel. Of course I didn't proceed and went back to the room. I tried kicking at the door at the end then finally an actor told me to stay there. I was starting to panic a bit, which is good but maybe it might be a good idea to instruct people in that room a bit better by having an actor stay in there and manipulate people much like the first Zombicide scene.
The chainsaws were just irritating. I understand "a lot" or people are afraid of them. But actors would try cutting at our legs and it only became irritating.
Highlights for me, things that startled me
----------------------------------------------------
A clown smacked me lightly on the face and flashed a red light
The jack and the box room, its obvious lol but I didn't see it coming. Then a little cute actor who was turning the crank on the jack and the box popped her head out at me and smiled at me. That startled me a bit.
In line I was busy watching the movie playing and an actor startled me.
----------------------------------------------------
I have been through Ghostly Manor, all of Cedar Point's haunted attractions, Vermillion Haunted School house and 7 floors of hell. The Haunted Hoochie blew all of the haunted houses out of the water.
You would have to have nerves of steel to walk through the haunted hoochie with being startled at least once.
I SAY ALL THIS BECAUSE I LOVED THE HOOCHIE!
If I ever become a student at the Ohio State University I would definitely love working as an actor here if I got the chance.
